Thanksgiving: A Day for Giving Thanks- Not Pigging Out!!

Thanksgiving Day. The one day a year that Americans look forward to eating more than any other day. Why is that? Why does it seem like all holidays center around food??

Everyone always busts out their best food on Thanksgiving. The amount of food available to most people is ridiculous! So... what's a girl who LOVES to indulge in food to do??

Use self control! I'm going to be making some healthier versions of Thanksgiving classics and I'm also going to exercise big-time self control.

I've been thinking about how I gain weight. I obviously gain weight by eating (duh) and making poor food choices. A lot of times, I either don't think about what I'm eating before stuffing it in my mouth, or I think, "Gee, this is the one time I'll get to eat this- I deserve it!"

The unfortunate thing with that way of thinking is that I probably won't remember whatever it is that I thought I deserved when I gain weight. I'm not going to break a zipper on my pants because they're too small and go, "Oh yeah, this is because of that delicious pumpkin pie I ate. TOTALLY worth it!!"

That means... it's really NOT worth it. My new mantra is "NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels!" While it might seem like a good idea to eat that deep-friend Snickers bar at the time, I'm totally going to regret it (if I even remember it!) in a few weeks time.

This week, I'm going to share some healthy Thanksgiving recipes I've found.

What are your tips and tricks for surviving the post-holiday weight gain??
